Star Event
I (i) was just going through my marriage album and there was one pose that made
me stop and think for a while, it is the eternal pose where the boy is pointing
towards sky and girl is smilingly looking along with him into the unknown
skies. Yes, both of them looking at “Arundhati Nakshatram” (Star). Most of the
south Indian marriages I know have this tradition. Truly I never understood
what this is all about; I have seen so many marriages in and around my family,
every time it was more on poking fun and disturbing the couple. Just got to
learn some meaning of all this but before that, let me go about my way of
reading it all this while.
Imagine all the people around you who have
meticulously been pestering you for marriage, this is the moment of truth for
most of them. For all the struggle and pain they have taken all this while for
pushing you into this thing called “marriage”, this star gazing moment is when
they start telling you the real side of it. Ever heard the Telugu phrase
“Chukkalu Chupinchatam” (Showing Stars….translations are always funny) this is
where all the potential RDX is and your beloved people around will play and plant
them with military precession.
If ever you get to look at these photos, you can
observe both the individuals laughing and also everyone around them (possibly).
There is a lot of fun that goes around all along but I did get to hear a lot of
different taunts over the years.
- Imagine the boy pointing into the sky and saying, see darling I am taking you along with me to show you a star, with love! Girl replies back saying don’t worry honey I will show you the remaining slowly and surely, with love!
- Do you guys seriously need to see that or just see each other’s faces and move on?
- Hey Boy this is it, this will be the last time you will direct her for something remaining is all hers….all the best!!
- This will be the first and last time you will raise your hand….so enjoy this moment and do not forget to smile for photographers.
- Looks like the girl is not able to see anything….I guess only the boys face is flashing all the while….Hey Girl what did you see actually?
- Lady, Pujari asked to see the star in the sky, not your husband…..look up into the sky he is showing you something!
- Pujari Garu…..this is waste of time sir, Just let them go ….look at their faces sir they are very eager for Honey & Moon and you are showing them some star.
And many more like these; you can categorize them to
your liking but that’s the way it is!!!
Recently got to know about the Story and some
Information regarding “Arundhati-Vashista”, out of which Information was
something that made me think a little. I knew that “Arundhati-Vashista” is a
twin star system, but unlike others, this one behaves in a different way.
Usually it will be one star in the middle and the other will be revolving
around it but “Arundhati-Vashista” is the one with a unique rotation system,
both the stars revolve around each other, which I think is a re-learning for me
(Guess this was told in our science classes long ago). May be this
is the way, the world for both individuals in a marriage has to be like
…..Around each other!!
Good one !!! Reading first few lines i thought of telling the story of arundathi and vashihta in here. But yeah since u already know it thats the essence. No matter what all comments or jokes you hear from people........married couple should be like these stars :) running around each other ;)
