Project Grass Walk
No I am not a secret agent nor I handle big projects, so to say, but what I am trying to do here is to recollect some things that happened during and after a recent visit to a place called Grass walk, I am not sure on how to classify the place - as a resort or one in a kind place but is surely a place to visit. From the day one when we eight friends decided on this thing to happen the only word that was running in mails was Project Grass Walk, as I feel getting all of them at one place has been difficult task in the recent past and to successfully complete and having a experience and memories like this is amazing. Let’s go by parts:
The Lunch:
We were to meet at our Juice Barons place, this a name I recently started calling one of my friend. As usual we arrived on IST (Individual Standard Time). As far as my memory goes, really after a long time we were there at lunch time and eating together. At Barons place Juice is always at the tops and we were all set to spend a whole day away from the usual hustle of city. The travel time was about 2 hours to reach the desired place and the time goes by with the usual fun and talking about the good times we spent, people in Figo were surely poking fun on the people in Santro (esp. the “_ _ _”BOY). Once we reach the place, I was wowed by the location and the pool was already pulling me into it, then I concentrate on the four tents just for us eight people. Just us and no one else around apart from the manager and cook (supposedly).
Tents were all in good condition, except for an odd frog lurking around in the commode, full too breezy bathrooms, a big bath tub right next to your bed, bed which has a mosquito mesh around it, few cane chairs and furniture’s, one big lazy chair, the walking path way all along with lantern lights, all in all were getting ready for a rocking day. We just go around and check the place and without any delay start the drinks and get ready for the pool. Slowly one by one we get into the pool and the dark clouds start to cover the skies and we could see rain falling far away. What would it be like when you are in the pool sipping chilled beer and it starts to rain, yes it happened and we all enjoyed it like “What else do I need for this life”. With the strong winds blowing and the rain which was on and off, we had a hard time controlling the ball we bought to play in the pool. Just when you think everything was going on fine some things will happen that will change the course of the day.
The DNA Pool:

Another View:
No, that is not the name of the pool but if we were to stay one more day my friends would have named it after my DNA. During pool time I wandered to the wrong place and got a cut on my toe nails, do not know what caused it but the pain got severe and I got out of the pool and noticed the blood was flowing. Probably this was what brought everybody out of the pool. With a light drizzle, few drinks, sun setting down slowly who would want to get out of the pool, not me certainly if not for the cut. Now for a quick remedy turmeric was bought from the kitchen and “poured” on the toes, rest assured it was burning like hell and I had to control my mouth as I could have talked a lot at that moment. With dialogues like “Mard ban be a Man” going around, all I could do was shut my mouth and hit my fist in water. With this happening and a few drops of MY blood in the pool made it The DNA Pool. All my good friends suggested me to get a TT injection and like an old fashioned good boy I nodded “Okie”. For me the fun did not stop here…read the last part.
Junkie Fun:
We as a group are well known to each other through food and also that might be one of the reasons that brought us all together. If you see me though you will have different thought but for now just know that we are quite specific with food and the minority VEG group in the batch has been suffering a lot because of the ever hungry non vegetarians. So we settle down and wait for the snacks and food to arrive already people were hungry and chocolates became starters for a while and few minutes later the food arrives. Few round of snacks and not many were liking it and again “JUNK” food was what saved the evening for us, few round of drinks again and little bit of rice made the evening for me. Now it was sleeping time and more fun followed……good night. Aaeeeey hmmmm no no no….stop your brain there, I know what you are thinking….that was just for the teasing.
Jungle Mein Junkie:
The next day morning, some had an early morning wake up and some lazed in the bed a little bit more. We then went for a walk around the place, which was forest area and we did spot a peacock and few rabbits. Then followed a session which looked like it will not stop…photo sessions. With four to five cameras around, excluding the ones with phones, we all went on photo frenzy. Slowly came back to the tents and spent time just doing nothing there after. How many times do you get to do that without worrying about anything? As always all good things have to come to an end and so was this and time to pack things and head back into another jungle. As told earlier the fun did not stop here for me as I agreed to the good advice from my friends regarding TT.
TT Trivia:
No I am not giving you any detail on the chemical composition of TT injection or how it should be given but instead will tell what I faced when I went to take the dose. So with all my friends reminding me about the TT, I go to a clinic to get the dosage. The receptionist asks me to get the injection from the store down floor and wait for the nurse, I do not know why but the ladies, receptionist and nurse answer me in English even when I asked the question in Telugu. I take the material and wait for the nurse in the room mentioned as outpatient. Below is the conversation that went on between me and her. My lines converted from Telugu to English, while the nurse stays strong with English.
Seeing her coming into the room I put my hand forward and start raising the hand cuff
Me: Madam is this fine, while turning my shoulder towards her
Nurse: Starts smiling and says “No no Hand will pain more sir and back will pain less sir”
Nurse: You remove and sleep on the bed, I will give.
I was just thinking why she doesn’t switch to Telugu. I was giving her question mark looks and she was showing me to the bed.
Me: Madam…. (She stops me here)
Nurse: No Problem sir, your back is good and no pain will be there.
I was not getting if it was me who was seeing the wrong side of it or was it her killing English, but either way I was neither able to laugh it away or was ready to do it her way. Her persistence wins over mine and more English to come.
Nurse: Sir leave free no tension
I got the essence of her line but I had serious doubts if at all she is a nurse or some amateur trying a hand at me. I was seriously praying, for her to speak in Telugu. Mean while the injection is given and then comes the punch line.
Nurse: This is Good Sir, medicine effect will be quick (No these lines come out in TELUGU)
I do not know what good effect but I could not play TT (table tennis @ office) for two days but the toe recovered fast.
Be Safe!!!
