Trial Room
The moment one says the word “Shopping” women will surely
will come into picture, numerous jokes on it etc... etc... I am not going to tell
you about the regular stuff that goes around with shopping along with your
beloved…..the shopping routines, buying, bargaining and excitement all these
are as usual as any other. For me the more funny part of all this shopping is
waiting outside the “Trial Room”.
First and fore most I must thank my “BEST” half for taking
me through one of a kind shopping experience. With her it is more calculated
and planned shopping, yes we do have those mood-off or irritated days while
shopping but all in all it’s been exciting. Will go in length some other time
but let’s get back to the agenda….
Men around Here!!!
Talking about men, when the main topic is about woman, is
little disturbing but none the less we men are un-separable part of this
shopping festival. Okie now picture these situations ….
- While my lady is in the trial room, I am waiting outside looking at a couple who were deciding on what to buy, the guy well built (the stereotyped, mills and boon “Tall, Dark, handsome” type) had 7-8 dresses on his left arm, “Januuuu You wanna take this”… then one dress on his well worked right shoulder, “Jaaaaannn you liked this na” then goes one onto left shoulder. After a few more he says “yeh tere pe accha lagega re” and he walks past me and gives me a stare. In my mind, I am having fun thinking “You are putting those muscles to good use man” but as he passes by, I give him a confused look and get out unhurt from him.
- This time I am at the receiving end…..I am waiting for my lady to come out while another man beside me….he has been observing me for quite some time and asks me “Waiting for girlfriend”….just at that moment my wife comes out and we talk for few minutes and she goes in again…..he says “Ohhh Married” in a different tone and that did irritate me. Wife comes out and we talk for few minutes and she goes in again… this time he taps my shoulder and says “Newly married…….All the best” and walks away. I never knew if there is any pattern with newly married at trial rooms but all the while I could not say a word.
- On a busy festival weekend time…..the store is full and a waiting line at the trial room. Few men and many women at the women’s trial room. Just imagine multiple heads turn every time a lady comes out and it’s becomes a parade. “The most uncomfortable time during shopping”
- On a recent trip for my Sisters shopping, my “BEST” half was also trying out some dresses and she was in the room, so while she was busy trying the dresses I accompanied my sister helping in trial selection….and then “RAGHUUUUU” a shout out loud and the first thing I get is … “She liked some dress very madly”, I just run towards the trial room while people around me are staring at me as if I should not leave my wife and roam around in the store.
- There are two things I have tried during these years…first one – roam around a little, very near to the trial room so that I am available for the valuable feedback on what my wife is trying out ….second one – just stay there and wait for your wife to come out. As harmless as the methods seem there are dangerous draw backs. One time, an old man approached me and asked “what are you doing here at women’s trial room?” the situation was, my “BEST” half went in with 3 pairs of dresses and in the meantime 4 women who came out gave me "not so" pleasing looks. I was following the second rule and he thought I was just here to look at women trying out new dresses.
It’s their area and their ultimate time for joy and bliss (irrespective of they buy those clothes or not), I had few situations with women who accompany them for shopping. The best part with women is that, I and they, both are in silent mode and only eyes do the talking. So I leave those conversations for your imaginations.
Super Raghu.
